Overview
We are currently seeking talented Business Support Administrators to join our Corporate Business Support team. Our team is highly experienced in delivering services across various council departments. Our strength lies in our deep knowledge of key support services, ensuring the smooth operation of services provided by different Business Units.
This is a permanent post in Corporate Business Support supporting Transport Services.
About the role
We are looking for someone to join our transport services team who supports the day-to-day administration for home to school transport within the Communities directorate. As part of the role, you will deal with a variety of different tasks across the team with the opportunity to further enhance your knowledge and skills within the wider Corporate Business Support Teams, opening up additional opportunities.
As a Business Support Administrator, you will play a crucial role in providing effective and efficient administrative support within a collaborative team environment. Your responsibilities will include:
* Typing letters and managing correspondence
* Receiving telephone calls and taking messages from both internal and external customers
* Note-taking at meetings
* Inputting data into the Council's databases and electronic systems
* Handling financial responsibilities
* Meeting deadlines and performing other general administrative duties
You must be able to work flexibly to respond to service demand, demonstrate the ability to prioritize a varied and challenging workload efficiently, have good verbal and written communication skills, and possess a good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.
About you
* Possesses good communication skills and accurate attention to detail.
* Knowledge and experience of taking meeting minutes.
* Educated to GCSE / NVQ2 standard or equivalent, including in English and Maths.
* Keen to learn and able to juggle priorities effectively, often with conflicting demands.
* Caring and helpful and able to work as part of a team.
* Customer focused and has a can-do attitude.
