Data Management Assistant
An excellent opportunity to start a career within data management involved in the challenging environment of early phase clinical studies and be trained in the many different aspects of clinical data management.
The Role
We have an excellent opportunity for a Data Management Assistant to join our Data Management department, based in Edinburgh. You will be involved in the challenging environment of early phase clinical research and be trained in the many different aspects of data management support tasks.
Data Sciences at Quotient Sciences comprises six departments (including Data Management) and over 100 staff and provides an expert service in the data management, analysis and reporting of early phase clinical studies.
Each clinical study is set up according to the clinical protocol which details the study design, objectives, dosing information, data collection and reporting methods. Other project team members will perform tasks such as database set-up, collection of data, reporting, etc; working as part of a team your role will be to perform tasks such as:
1. Support the study Data Managers and perform data management activities using study databases, including QC
2. Entry of data into database test environment
3. Regularly update clinical study details on the overall Data Science master spreadsheet (Excel)
4. Provide general administrative support to the data management department
5. Assist in the generation and co-ordination of archiving documents on assigned studies
We use industry standard software and full training will be provided in our systems and data management procedures. Dependent on your development, our career pathway allows you to expand your role over time to perform other data management tasks and potentially progress to a more senior role.
The Candidate
The successful candidate will have experience within some form of administration/support role in a scientific environment (e.g. working for a research company, laboratory, NHS etc.). Candidates must also be numerate with an eye for detail but there is no requirement for a degree.
In addition, you should have good organisational skills and be able to work to deadlines whilst maintaining quality standards. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential. Effective oral and written communication skills are also required. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
This is a hybrid role to be based in our Edinburgh office.
