As a B&Q designate manager, you’ll have the unique opportunity to learn about us and our business, typically spending 3-6 months working across a cluster of stores (in the Romford/West Thurrock area). You’ll experience management training in various store formats before being placed into your own department or store.
Due to the nature of this role, there’ll be some flexibility and travel required during your time as a designate, before being placed within a store that matches your experience within 50 miles of where you live.
Key responsibilities
1. Lead by example to build an inclusive culture for your colleagues and customers.
2. Coach and train your team to recommend the right finance, products, and installation options for customer projects.
3. Manage people well every day and role model great customer service to support personal growth and development.
4. Oversee the recruitment and induction of installers to ensure the best level of service for customers.
Required skills & experience
1. A natural leader who can motivate and support a team in a fast-paced and constantly changing sales environment.
2. Sharp commercial mind with plenty of customer service experience.
3. Ability to promote products, services, and installation options.
4. Willingness to expand skills by using new technology and learning new ways of working.
5. Flexible to work on a rota that includes weekends, evenings, and bank holidays.
