A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Planning Monitoring & Controls Professional to join the team with a leading Defence Client. This is a hybrid role, 2 days per week on-site at their offices in Barrow In Furness.
The individual in this role will operate one or more of the PM&C processes on a project, or be responsible for some aspects of PM&C processes or supporting more senior staff on a larger project.
At this level, the incumbent will be expected to work independently on routine aspects of the activity, usually under guidance and supervision in more complex situations. They are unlikely to be directly supervising other staff.
They will have a level of knowledge in one or more areas of PM&C practice and be expected to apply themselves in routine circumstances and to seek & follow guidance on their adaptation and application in more complex circumstances.
Core Duties
1. Able to perform non-complex project reporting and scheduling.
2. Query resolution of basic and routine problems.
3. Develop a knowledge of Business processes and procedures.
4. Administration and general office skills including spreadsheets/Microsoft packages.
5. Attend on-the-job training as appropriate.
6. Update offline CAM Cost Model.
7. Work Package Management:
* Opening & closing cost charges in SAP.
* Opening & closing settlement issues in SAP.
* Reviewing weekly Labour and Material bookings to CAM accounts.
* Following up with individuals on unapproved and unreleased timesheets.
* Review of outstanding Actions: EAC review, EVM review, etc.
* Monthly:
o Earned Value Management (EVM) analysis: Providing monthly analysis of CAM EVM data using SAP ARC Tool and Finance Actuals.
o CAM Pack production for CAM Reviews / Delivery Director Reviews (load onto SharePoint).
o Review & Reduce historic commitments on Purchase Orders.
o Closure of 100% complete Labour and Materials cost charges in SAP with CAM endorsement.
o Risk Reviews per CAM area (i.e. actions from reviews; raising new risks/opportunities; refreshing of risk/opportunity values).
o Review Baseline plan for errors and correct.
o Raise Performance Measurement Baseline Change Requests (PMBCRs) to transfer scope; revise budgets & correct planning issues.
o Update the PMBCR Cost Tracker and Team PMBCR Tracker.
o 3 Month 'Look Ahead' Review on Current Plan with Planners.
o Download the Teamcenter Build 'Remaining Units' and 'Total Values Report' (NRE available on SharePoint).
o In Year Financial Management (IYFM) to provide a realistic forecast within IYFM short term Period.
o Quarterly:
+ Estimate At Completion (EAC).
+ Work with Cost Estimating to capture robust Basis of Estimates.
Responsibilities
Accountable as a member of the PM&C team for supporting development and implementation of appropriately tailored PM&C practices.
Is expected to work independently on routine aspects of the activity, and under guidance and supervision in more complex situations. They are unlikely to be directly supervising other staff.
No staff supervisory responsibilities.
May on occasion provide informal technical support to team members.
Knowledge
1. PM&C experience demonstrated in a professional capacity within a project.
2. Good knowledge and understanding of their project.
3. Good understanding of one or more PM&C tools techniques and practices.
4. Good knowledge of the Business environment for project.
5. Knowledge of PM governance and assurance processes such as Integrated Baseline Reviews (IBRs).
6. Experience of working with stakeholders typically inside the company.
7. Good understanding of the wider PM&C environment, and of developments and practices in the field.
8. Good understanding of own project/s, its markets, customers, strategic priorities and culture.
9. Knowledge acquired through job-related training and on-the-job experience, generally non-theoretical skills.

Qualifications
1. Some application of related PM Competencies will be expected at this level.
2. No prior PM Qualification will be expected at this level.
3. Incumbent will be expected to proceed to gain a PM Qualification such as the APM Fundamentals Qualification or higher.
4. Recognising the restricted nature of the work, there is a requirement for the candidate to be eligible to obtain Security Clearance for this role.
