Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for Environmental and Sustainability Advisor to join our passionate and driven team based at our client’s site in Ipswich. This role covers the OCS Group in the UK & Ireland, reporting to the Environmental and Sustainability Manager (UK&I). The Environmental and Sustainability Advisor has responsibility for environmental compliance and engagement processes across the business and with customers. The role will require significant engagement with internal stakeholders (e.g., QHSE, Bid, Sales, Social Mobility, Communications teams) and external stakeholders (e.g., Regulators and Customers) to ensure all aspects of environmental and sustainability management are best in class.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Functional:
1. Manage and co-ordinate the environmental input for the bid and tendering process, working alongside multiple teams and divisions across the business to ensure environmental support is consistent.
2. Support and engage with customers on environmental requirements and initiatives.
3. Support operational team with management and implementation of the Environmental Management System, accredited to ISO14001:2015, ensuring that there is continual improvement and management of risk across all activities and sites.
4. Develop and deliver environmental training and workshops to relevant staff.
5. Ensure environmental data is captured across our customer base and can be integrated to Group reporting.
6. Conduct regular horizon scanning of upcoming regulations and initiatives related to ESG and the facilities management industry.
7. Maintain awareness of current (and future) legislation to ensure legal compliance, update OCS legal compliance portal and provide updates on changes affecting business activities.
8. Assist with the delivery of various ESG related reports, presentations and dashboards for customers.
9. Collate and coordinate environmental best practices across all divisions.
10. Create and update procedures for environment and sustainability, and report on progress towards environmental targets and objectives on a regular basis.
11. Support operational teams on issues of non-compliance or environmental incidents reported and monitor environmental incidents across the business.
12. Support operational teams with completion of carbon impact assessments and the subsequent contract-specific carbon reduction plans and ESG strategies.

About You:
1. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
2. Necessary experience and knowledge in environmental areas such as carbon, waste, and energy.
3. Good understanding of environmental legislation.
4. Excellent communicator, with proven stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels.
Desirable:
1. Experience within facilities management and/or construction industry.
2. Good understanding and experience of bids/tenders.
3. Applicants with qualifications in Environment/Sustainability/ESG.
