Brief Description
Support the management of the delivery of renewals and capital investment programmes, planned & cyclical maintenance, as well as providing professional building surveying guidance to support compliance with statutory legislation and minimise risk to Network Rail's operational infrastructure.
Location can be Bristol or Swindon
About the role (External)
Your Main Responsibilities will be to:
1. Support the delivery of agreed reactive maintenance, planned maintenance, renewals, and service charge/cyclical maintenance programmes in compliance with agreed budgets, company standards, statutory legislation, and best practices.
2. Maintain and manage an inspection and maintenance programme on all residential, rafts, lineside-interface structures and common areas.
3. Develop routine maintenance, renewal, and minor capital investment scheme remits into technical work scopes.
4. Provide a professional standard of guidance and building surveying advice on all matters relating to tenant alterations, structural integrity, building defects, and maintenance delivery mechanisms.
5. Implement a programme of asset condition inspections and assessments.
6. Develop and maintain appropriate relationships with property market professionals, contractors, and local authorities.
7. Undertake the role of Client Representative and Designer on behalf of Network Rail in line with CDM Regulations and company standards.
You will ideally have:
1. Understanding of statutory and industry requirements for building and construction works.
2. Understanding of track safety, railway possessions regime, and rail industry construction requirements.
3. Strong communication skills.
4. Demonstrable experience in delivering a programme of maintenance works.
5. Contract management experience.
6. Experience of working on heritage buildings.
7. Educated to Degree level or equivalent.
8. MRICS qualified.
9. Full Driving Licence.
