The Role
As a Senior Project Manager, you will cover a number of QinetiQ sites across a regional area to lead and take full responsibility for project delivery across the QinetiQ Estates to ensure a high level of service.
Day-to-day, you will organise the project and its delivery, as well as integrate the project team within the business and ensure that a health and safety culture is embedded within the team.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Developing junior project management competence
2. Defining and maintaining under review the overall aims and objectives of the project, together with their relative priorities, and the overall scope of the project
3. Defining and agreeing an appropriate budget, delivering the project within this budget, and managing and reporting progress against an agreed cost plan
4. Managing the activities of the external advisors, including the management of their appointments, via appointed Procurement Team Managers within QinetiQ
5. The management of project documentation to include bids, proposals, and third-party documentation
6. Deploying appropriate risk management strategies and methods for controlling quality
Essential experience of the Senior Project Manager:
1. Extensive experience of building teams to deliver construction projects and multi-sector project delivery experience, including defence
2. Highly developed interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with executives at senior level and equivalent on a day-to-day basis, as well as excellent stakeholder management skills
3. Working knowledge of Planning Application and GPDO process, as well as sustainability and energy aspects of project delivery
4. Detailed and working knowledge of building regulations, JSP standards, and the Construction, Design Management (CDM) regulations, and must have acted as client or similar on a construction-related project
5. Detailed knowledge of risk management processes and techniques, and environmental legislation and ecological regulation
6. Working knowledge of NEC contracts as well as JCT and detailed range of knowledge of civil engineering, infrastructure, and building works methods
Essential qualifications for the Senior Project Manager:
1. A professional qualification in the form of a degree, accreditation (APM, Prince 2, CIOB), or Chartered status
2. Degree qualified preferable in a vocational discipline

This role is 37 hours per week based at Portsmouth, Farnborough, or Gosport. Hybrid working patterns are available. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
