An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Business Development Manager who wants to be part of a passionate team working within a luxury furniture retailer known for their stable and secure history of being family owned and operated - who are currently going through a fantastic period of growth.
This is a strategic role with operational responsibility, appealing to ambitious professionals seeking their next move in a trade/B2B environment.
The position will see you develop and implement strategies across the trade side of the business, working particularly with Interior Designers and Design Brands, to increase commercial activities throughout the company and across various channels, along with challenging the buying and merchandising teams’ decisions on what product to buy and how to display it in store.
The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the successful candidate will demonstrate ability and experience in handling and negotiating commercial contracts at a senior level.
Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Attracting and bringing on board new business (private client/B2B) in both furniture and flooring from across the UK.
2. Day-to-day management of an allocated portfolio of projects.
3. Ensuring projects are completed on time and to budget.
4. Carrying out on-site method statements and risk assessments.
5. Ensuring all works are carried out under health and safety guidelines.
6. Assisting Surveyors and other Senior Management in the overall planning and management of projects.
About the Candidate:
* Previous experience in furniture/flooring management of commercial projects.
* Previous experience working with interior designers.
* Flexible self-starter with the ability to prioritize.
* Displays strong leadership skills.
* Analytical and problem-solving skills.
* PC/Sketchup literate.
* Experience preparing estimates prior to submission to client.
* A minimum of 2 years B2B sales experience with a proven track record of achieving incremental sales.
* Commercial sales experience in the furniture industry is preferred.
You will have a keen desire to win business and build the company’s order books with competitive but profitable rates.
