Role Overview
The Director of Litigation will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of litigation and dispute resolution across Lycamobile’s global operations. This role requires a seasoned legal professional with strong commercial acumen, deep litigation expertise, and experience managing multi-jurisdictional legal matters. You will work closely with senior leadership, external counsel, and cross-functional teams to mitigate risk and protect the company's interests.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead and manage all litigation and dispute resolution matters across jurisdictions, including civil, commercial, regulatory, and employment-related cases.
* Act as the key point of contact for external legal counsel, ensuring cost-effective, timely, and strategic handling of litigation.
* Advise the executive team and board members on litigation strategy, legal risk, and case developments.
* Oversee pre-litigation dispute resolution, negotiations, settlements, and mediation processes.
* Work closely with internal legal, compliance, HR, and finance teams to gather documentation and prepare for legal proceedings.
* Monitor and assess potential legal risks and exposure arising from operations, contracts, or regulatory issues.
* Maintain internal litigation tracking systems, reporting key developments to senior stakeholders.
* Ensure that litigation strategies align with the overall business and regulatory objectives of Lycamobile.
* Develop and implement internal policies and training to reduce litigation risk.
Qualifications & Experience
* Qualified solicitor or barrister in the UK (or equivalent international legal qualification).
* 10+ years of post-qualification experience, with a strong focus on litigation and dispute resolution.
* In-house experience within a multinational company, preferably in telecoms, tech, or regulated industries.
* Proven experience managing complex, multi-jurisdictional litigation and regulatory disputes.
* Exceptional negotiation, drafting, and communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple matters simultaneously.
* Strong business acumen with the ability to balance legal and commercial priorities.
