Our client seeks a Finance Business Partner to join their team and provide high quality, effective, financial advice, support and management information. This is a limited term appointment for a period of 6 months.
Role Profile: You will be assigned a customer Department but will also be expected to gain a broad spectrum of knowledge and be agile enough to provide support across other departments where needed. You will work as part of a cohesive team with other Finance Business Partners, providing a professional and resilient peer support network.
* You will contribute to the effective financial management, including strategy implementation, cross-organisational issues, integrated business and resource planning, risk management and performance management.
* By building a strong network of collaborative relationships you will provide customer driven, professional financial management and advice to departments and your customer Department on all aspects of the business, promoting a corporate and transparent approach to decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
The duties of a Finance Business Partner may vary depending on the requirements of the customer department. This role description is intended to be a guide to the general scope of duties.
* Customer departments are responsible for a wide range of activities and rely on FAS to deliver strategic financial planning and management, information, analysis, sound impartial and evidence-based advice and support across all levels of the Department. A commercial and flexible perspective is vital for this role.
* The post-holder will have a close professional working relationship with other FAS Business Partners and Departmental senior leadership teams. You'll play a key role with the Customer Departments, providing strategic advice on the financial viability of proposed business cases, programmes and projects, applying financial modelling in order to determine return on investment, in line with requirements. This will require a thorough understanding of the Financial Regulations. You will promote and deliver excellent financial management and control.
* The post holder will ideally be qualified as an accountant or be near qualification with demonstrable relevant experience. You may also have line management responsibility for staff, and manage short life working groups or project teams.

* Experience of the preparation and management of income, expenditure and capital budget.
* Experience of providing management information for senior managers including accounting and operational performance.
* Experience of preparing and critically evaluating business cases and option appraisals.
* Experience in managing relationships with a range of stakeholders in a constructive manner.
