Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for someone to join our Retail Protection business as a Commercial Manager, with a specific focus around Distribution & Governance activities. In this role you will support with the management of our distributor propositions, including the valuation of terms and agreements. You will also be pivotal in the tender process for both new business and re-negotiations and will be tasked with calculating the expected returns on these deals through the use of insights on the individual partners performance as well as other market factors. You will also provide support more broadly to the Retail Protection Commercial Team and other teams that we work closely with to ensure the continued success of our Retail Protection offering and ensure that we are able to hit our business targets successfully. This a hybrid working opportunity, which means that you can work flexibly between our Hove Office and your home, to find a work-life balance that works for you. What you'll be doing: Developing the assessment and approval process for setting commercial terms for new and existing distribution deals, as well as acting as a key consultant for proposition design in order to help minimise risk and provide grow margin opportunities. Documenting, developing and reviewing processes to ensure we have strong governance over the relationships with our distribution partners. As well as supporting with enhancing our broader understanding of the commercial elements which impact distribution. Contributing to committees by providing financial and commercial insights, as well as developing relationships with key stakeholders across the business. Supporting the Senior Commercial Manager and the business with targeted activities to improve efficiency, reduce cost and improve performance through the utilisation of insight gained via analysing core business MI and data systems. Supporting other teams on distribution agreements, such as providing support/advice to Legal and Distribution on the implications of the commercial aspects of agreements. Supporting the wider Commercial Operations process with things such as: pricing, commission changes, master set up, hierarchies etc. Ensuring consumer duty is considered and embedded in all work that we do. Qualifications Who we're looking for: A highly numerate individual with a good understanding of financial analysis techniques. Good Microsoft Excel skills would be expected, with experience using advanced functions such as V Lookups, Pivot Tables etc. A strong communicator, who can build effective working relationships with key stakeholders and influence commercial outcomes. A creative thinker, who can solve complex problems and make alternative suggestions on how to resolve issues. Knowledge of relevant Regulatory Frameworks or a willingness to learn about them so that you can apply this knowledge to commercial activates. Previous Commercial Management experience (ideally in a sales environment) would be highly beneficial but is not essential. Experience of working in a commercial function within a financial services environment would also be highly beneficial but is not essential.
