Job Description
* Manage and optimise stock levels in line with company targets
* Develop strong relationships with suppliers
* Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers
* Collaborate with other departments to forecast needs and manage stock
* Implement and manage an effective stock control system
* Resolve issues regarding delivered stock
* Prepare and present stock level reports to management
* Monitor supplier performance and instigate improvements where needed
The Successful Applicant
A successful Buying and Stock Controller should have:
* Strong negotiation skills and the ability to develop relationships with suppliers
* Excellent analytical skills for managing stock levels and forecasting
* A good understanding of supply chain processes in the industrial/manufacturing sector
* Experience within the engineering sector would be ideal
* Experience buying through an ERP system
