Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Tutor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to educating students and helping them achieve their full potential. This role involves providing one-on-one or small group tutoring sessions, focusing on enhancing students' understanding of various subjects, including Maths and English. The Tutor will work closely with children, including those with special educational needs, to create a supportive and engaging learning environment. We are a Thrive approach setting and are looking for someone who is aware of trauma informed practice. The position will be 2 days per week: 9.30-2.30pm.
Responsibilities
1. Conduct personalised tutoring sessions tailored to individual student needs.
2. Develop and implement lesson plans that align with educational standards and student goals.
3. Complete individual trackers for each student.
4. Have experience of live marking.
5. Educate students on subject matter while fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
6. Communicate effectively with students and their families regarding progress and areas for improvement.
7. Monitor and assess student performance, providing constructive feedback to encourage growth.
8. Collaborate with teachers and other educational professionals to support student learning.
9. Maintain a positive and encouraging atmosphere that motivates students to engage in their studies.
Experience
1. At least 2 years experience in tutoring or teaching is essential.
2. A teaching qualification is an essential requirement for the position.
3. Experience working with children, particularly those with special educational needs, is an advantage.
4. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with students and parents.
5. A background in education or relevant subject areas will be beneficial.
6. A patient and adaptable approach to teaching is crucial for addressing diverse learning styles.
7. Experience of working with students with challenging behaviour.
8. Patience, understanding and a nurturing environment is expected in our environment to enable us to support our students to thrive.
