Joining the Operations team and reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor will be responsible for the co-ordination, control and oversight of all manufacturing processes for the associated Product families. The Production Supervisor will work closely with the Production Manager to ensure the correct planning, prioritisation and resourcing of work. The Production Supervisor will ensure that all products are produced to cost, on time and ensure all quality processes and requirements are adhered to.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the management and administration of two direct reports and their teams.
2. Responsible for the execution of all production activities for their area of responsibility within the Chess Dynamics Horsham site.
3. Will assist the Production Manager in the effective scheduling and resourcing of associated production activities within the Chess Dynamics Horsham site.
4. Will assist in the development and implementation of plans, processes and procedures to minimise manufacturing costs through effective utilisation of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials and capital.
5. Help to implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing techniques with a focus on fact-based problem solving to improve both the efficiency and productivity of the production team.
6. Will aid the Production Manager in generating capacity plans to meet order fulfilment targets.
7. Work with the Production Manager and other stakeholders to ensure the efficient and successful delivery of objectives.
8. Ensure personal and team adherence to the company’s procedures, policies and goals.
9. Ensure the health and safety of both employees and visitors within their production areas through the adherence to the appropriate processes, procedures and legal requirements.
10. Reviewing and managing the performance of the production team through regular 1-1’s and coaching.
11. Identification and co-ordination of team development and training needs at all levels.
12. Responsible for the availability of production equipment through planned maintenance and identification of future production needs.
13. Work with the Production Manager to maintain and improve on production area layout to provide an efficient workspace that meets 6S requirements and is always ‘tour’ ready.
Skills & Experience:
1. Have at least 3 years’ experience in managing teams within a project or complex/customised equipment manufacturing environment.
2. Have demonstrable experience in a range of manufacturing disciplines.
3. Be able to demonstrate a ‘hands on’ approach in managing diverse and flexible production teams.
4. Demonstrate stakeholder management and relationship building across multiple functions of a business.
5. Be able to identify and effectively manage change within a manufacturing environment.
6. Relevant engineering/manufacturing degree or equivalent.
