Humly is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support students across Key Stage 1 year groups at a single-form entry school in Thornton-Cleveleys, Blackpool. This full-time role requires an experienced educator, ideally with experience across multiple year groups, to join its thriving and enriching school.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support Learning Activities: Assist in delivering engaging and age-appropriate lessons tailored to EYFS and KS1 pupils.
2. Individual and Group Support: Provide focused one-on-one or small group support to help children reach their developmental milestones.
3. Encourage Social Development: Foster social skills and positive behaviours in line with the school’s ethos.
4. Classroom Organisation: Aid in managing classroom activities, maintaining a structured and stimulating environment.
5. Collaboration with Staff: Work closely with class teachers to adapt lesson plans and meet the diverse needs of all pupils.
6. Progress Monitoring: Help track and document children’s academic and personal progress.
Qualifications and Skills
1. Relevant Experience: At least six months’ experience as a teaching assistant or working with young children in the UK.
2. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with children, staff, and parents.
3. Organisational Skills: Ability to multitask and contribute to a well-organised classroom environment.
4. Patience and Passion: A genuine enthusiasm for supporting children’s learning and development.
5. Relevant Qualifications: Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or Childcare qualifications are desirable but not essential with relevant experience.
