Northwich.
The Division of Women's and Children's covers a range of specialities including Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Maternity services, Acute Paediatrics,
Community Paediatrics and Paediatric Audiology.
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and flexible individual to undertake the role of PA in Obstetrics & Gynaecology. The post is offered on a full time basis working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
The PA will offer clerical and secretarial support to the Consultant Team/Specialist Nurse Team as well as other medical staff. This will be a busy and demanding role so only those with previous secretarial experience will be shortlisted – medical secretarial experience would be advantageous.
Duties include but are not limited to:
* Efficient secretarial support to the Consultant Team/Specialist Nurse Team, including diary management.
* Dealing with all telephone enquiries.
* Audio-typing from dictation, including the updating of patient’s RTT pathways.
* Inputting/maintaining/updating data to the hospital databases/systems.
* Communicating with the patients/the general public/Doctors/Nurses/Other professions allied to healthcare.
* General administration duties (e.g. filing, copying).
* Regular validation of open RTT pathways.
* Line management of an Assistant Personal Assistant (APAs).
Applicants should be highly motivated and be able to demonstrate working on their own initiative, but also as part of a team. You will need to have a formal typing qualification, and you will need excellent communication skills. You will be able to act as a role model to others.
Daily tasks will include the following:
* Providing efficient secretarial support to the Consultant / Specialist Nurse team.
* Ensuring compliance of the Referral to Treatment (RTT) targets with regular validation of patient pathways.
* Audio typing from dictation.
* Communicating with the patients/the general public/Doctors/Nurses/Other professions allied to healthcare.
* Assisting the team with the booking/cancellation/alteration of clinics, ensuring full utilisation of clinic capacity.
* Diary management.
* Supervising and supporting the APAs within your team to ensure clinic turnaround targets are achieved.
* Dealing with all telephone enquiries.
* Inputting/maintaining/updating data to the hospital databases/systems.
