As the Logistics Director, you will develop and implement our long-term global logistics strategy within the supply chain leadership team. This role involves overseeing 3 fulfilment centres and 4 returns centres across the UK, EU, and US. Your responsibilities include defining and executing the strategy, identifying opportunities for growth and cost savings, enhancing operations, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting a team of supply chain professionals. Oversee and Collaborate with Third-Party Logistics Providers: Manage and coordinate with our logistics facilities across Barnsley, Berlin, Poznan, Atlanta, and Sheffield to ensure smooth operations. Managing our comprehensive commercial and customer impact metrics with a clear roadmap to achieve success. Warehousing and Logistics Expertise: Seek an individual with intricate expertise in warehousing and logistics, ideally with prior general / site management roles. The candidate should have experience in large-scale automation & headcount and be capable of providing hands-on strategic oversight to implement efficient processes, reduce costs, and promote continuous improvement. Budget Management: Responsible for managing the warehouse and returns operating budget. Leadership in Reviews: Lead monthly and quarterly reviews in collaboration with senior stakeholders and direct reports, focusing on our five key pillars within the supply chain: people, customers, quality, suppliers, and efficiency. Global Logistics Continuous Improvement: Own a global logistics continuous improvement agenda which requires a strategic vision, dedication to operational excellence, and the ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams. Team Leadership: Lead and empower the local ASOS and third-party logistics team, fostering a positive and productive team culture. Collaboration on CAPEX Projects: Work with Supply Chain Development on CAPEX projects to enhance maintenance and focus on long-term growth and efficiency. Improvement of Logistics Estate: Improve the logistics estate to achieve a high-standard warehouse in all key areas, including third-party logistics colleague engagement and health and safety metrics (DART rate). Establish comprehensive commercial and customer impact metrics with a clear roadmap to achieve success. Stakeholder Management: Manage and develop relationships with key stakeholders in the business, including Trading, Commercial, Finance, Legal, Technology, and Customer Care. Support our culture by championing Diversity, Equity & Inclusion strategies. Qualifications Accreditation in logistics or supply chain, such as a certificate of professional competence, advanced customs practitioner and IOSH, is also desirable. Further education in business administration, logistics, supply chain management or a related field is desirable. Extensive experience in warehousing and logistics management, ideally with a background in general / site management roles. About You Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Successfully managed a complex operational expenses budget exceeding £200 million across multiple global facilities, showcasing the capability to optimise fixed asset expenditure. Strong analytical, problem-solving and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment. Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise board papers that present relevant information, analysis and recommendations in a comprehensive manner. Understanding and application of customs rules and the handling of dangerous goods is essential as forms part of international trade compliance. Successful track record of managing automation suppliers within e-commerce to build and develop a site or process that meets operational and customer expectations. Demonstrated ability to apply Lean, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodologies to identify and eliminate waste, reduce costs and increase efficiency in the supply chain processes. Successfully managed and reduced the DART (Days Away, Restricted, or Transferred) rate in comparison to industry standards through the implementation of various initiatives. Experience of improving team engagement by fostering a culture of collaboration, feedback and recognition among the supply chain team and stakeholders.
