Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance Technician (Light Vehicle)
Light vehicle servicing and maintenance technician apprenticeship. As a Motor Vehicle Apprentice, you will be working with a qualified team. You will also attend college sessions in order to gain a Level 3 qualification.
Responsibilities
You will be carrying out all aspects of repairing, maintaining, and servicing light vehicles including:
1. Tyres and Brakes
2. Fault Diagnosis on cars and light commercial vehicles using computer equipment and through a process of elimination
3. Removal and replacement of a range of vehicle parts
4. Assisting the other members of the team with more complex tasks
5. Supporting the delivery of MOT Tests
6. Basic servicing, including car health checks
7. Steering and suspension
8. Electrical fault diagnostics
9. Keeping the garage clean and tidy
Requirements
The apprentice will need some experience with basic hand tools, mechanical ability, and the ability to travel to site independently. They should also be willing to pass their driving test before completion of the apprenticeship.
Candidate Profile
The right candidate will have a natural interest and enthusiasm for cars. They will need to work under pressure and to tight timescales, work as part of a team, and be prepared to work hard. Confidence is essential, along with the ability to ask questions if unsure.

Qualifications Required
