Section Engineer - Major Infrastructure Project - Plymouth
Randstad are recruiting for an experienced Section Engineer to join a major infrastructure project at Devonport Docks in Plymouth. This is a contract role offering a competitive rate and the opportunity to work on a critical project within a leading construction company.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversee and manage a specific section of the project, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.
2. Supervise and coordinate the work of a team of site staff, including technicians, surveyors, and operatives.
3. Implement and maintain safety procedures and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
4. Manage and resolve technical issues that arise within your section, ensuring timely and efficient solutions.
5. Prepare and maintain project documentation, including site surveys, drawings, reports, and safety records.
6. Collaborate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Section Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
2. A strong understanding of construction methods and processes, particularly within the infrastructure sector.
3. Experience working on complex projects, ideally within a naval dockyard or similar environment.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders.
5. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Desirable Qualifications:
1. Experience working with Kier or other leading construction companies.
2. Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.
3. Experience with construction software, such as AutoCAD and BIM.
