Job Title: HV Electrical Qualified Supervisor Location: East Riding of Yorkshire Salary: Circa £50k Benefits Job Description: We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled HV Electrical Qualified Supervisor to join our client. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) installations, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and technical standards. This role requires excellent technical knowledge, leadership skills, and a strong understanding of Distribution Network Operators (DNOs), such as Northern Power. Key Responsibilities: Serve as the primary point of contact for the DNO Project Manager. Ensure all work is carried out safely, adhering to HSE guidelines and company policies. Manage and supervise HV and LV installation projects, including cable installation and jointing up to 33kV. Supervise and coordinate all site-based personnel to ensure project delivery on time and within budget. Conduct technical audits of cable installation and jointing works, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Provide expert technical advice on cable installation and jointing processes. Carry out risk assessments of the workplace and ensure risk mitigation measures are implemented. Accurately record all work undertaken, maintaining detailed and precise documentation. Attend and participate in training and update courses as required. Key Qualifications & Experience: ONC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Qualified Supervisor in the electricity supply industry. Experience in the interpretation of mains records and site drawings. HV and LV Authorised Person certification, with experience in high-voltage switching operations. Strong understanding of BS7671 (18th Edition) and electrical testing and inspection. SMSTS/SSSTS certification is essential. Extensive knowledge of Northern Power or other DNOs, including their technical and operational standards. Skills & Competencies: Excellent leadership and team management abilities. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively. Proficiency in conducting workplace risk assessments and implementing safety measures. Exceptional technical knowledge of HV and LV installations and jointing practices. IT literacy, including proficiency with reporting and documentation tools.
