SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity (Full-Time, Term-Time Only)

Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: BH21,Cranborne, Dorset
Hourly Rate: £11.72 - £12.78
Annual Salary: £20,941.30 - £22,835.30 (Term-Time Only)
Contract: Permanent, 40 hours per week, Term-Time Only
About the Role:
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students aged 11-16 with special educational needs, including Autism. Working closely with the teaching team, you'll provide in-class support and help with practical outdoor activities such as Bushcraft and life skills sessions. Your contribution will be key to their academic and personal development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Offer personalised support, ensuring students' safety and well-being.
* Help students achieve goals set in their Education and Healthcare Plans (EHCPs).
* Implement positive behaviour strategies tailored to individual needs.
* Maintain accurate records of incidents, accidents, and health and safety issues.
* Encourage social interaction and teamwork among students.
Who We're Looking For:
Experience isn't essential, but a positive attitude and dedication to supporting young people is. The ideal candidate will have:
* A genuine desire to work with young people and build supportive relationships.
* The ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
* A creative and problem-solving mindset.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Basic numeracy, literacy, and ICT skills.
* GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4 or equivalent) preferred but not required.
