Overview:
Our client have a vacancy for an experienced and qualified tool maker. The post holder will be responsible for making precision tools with a heavy bias towards jogs, fixtures and holding devices. Other responsibilities will include the maintenance and refurbishment of press tools. The jigs and fixtures produced will then be used in the manufacturing process to ensure we make customer products to the required specifications. Our clients customer base if very broad but includes many wold-class blue-chip businesses.
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have an extensive background working in a toolroom or very similar environemtn (fitter turner for example). The post holder will be required to produce bespoe manufacturing aids using a variety of manual milling, turning and grinding machines along with a variety of other machines and hand tools. Experience of setting, programming and operating XYZ Prototrak milling machines or lathes would also be desireable but not essential.
The post is to work in a small team on site at our bespoke tool room. The successful candidate will be expected to work autonomously; however, they should also be comfortable working in a small project-based teams along iwht engineering, quality and production team members.
