We are looking for a Chief of Engineering Portfolio Transformation for a contract based in on behalf of our globally respected client who develop cutting-edge technologies that deliver clean, safe and competitive solutions to meet the planet’s vital power needs.
Job description - the role
The Chief of Engineering Portfolio Transformation plays a pivotal role in managing and optimising the Engineering portfolio of projects, investments, and products. This leadership position is essential for providing strategic oversight, resource allocation, risk management, and performance tracking, ensuring alignment with company goals and maximising value delivery. In addition to day-to-day portfolio management, this role will drive the transformation of existing portfolio management processes across various business units into a unified, cohesive company-wide approach. Operating as part of a global team, this role may require travel to support collaboration and alignment across different sites.
As a Chief of Engineering Portfolio Transformation you will be responsible for:
1. Define and Optimise Portfolio Governance and Planning:
Establish and refine governance frameworks to enhance the effectiveness of portfolio management. Develop strategies to optimise project selection, prioritisation, and execution, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
2. Build and Maintain Engineering Portfolio Management Information:
Implement systems and processes for capturing, analysing, and reporting portfolio performance metrics. Provide regular updates and insights to senior management on the health and progress of the portfolio.
3. Deliver Policy and Tools for Demand Planning, Resource Allocation, and Portfolio Prioritisation:
Develop and implement policies, procedures, and tools for demand forecasting, resource allocation, and portfolio prioritisation.
4. Embed the New Organisation in Executive Systems:
Collaborate with Finance and other key stakeholders to integrate the new portfolio management processes into executive systems.
5. Drive Portfolio Transformation:
Lead the transition from disparate portfolio management processes to a unified, company-wide approach. Champion change management efforts to ensure the adoption and success of the new portfolio management strategies.
What we require from the candidate:
* Bachelor's degree in engineering, or a related field.
* Proven experience in portfolio management within a complex engineering or manufacturing environment, preferably in aerospace or related industries.
* Strong understanding of project management principles, financial analysis, and risk management.
* Experience in executive-level reporting and presenting to senior leadership.
* Demonstrated ability to lead transformational change and drive organisational alignment.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
