Wickham Market Pharmacy are looking to welcome a dispensing assistant into our busy pharmacy, who will play a full and active role as part of team. This is a maternity cover role for 12 months and we are ideally looking for someone to start by March 2025. The working week will be Monday to Friday, with hours to be confirmed. Saturday working is only required in exceptional circumstances. The successful candidate will: work alongside pharmacy technicians and under the supervision of the responsible pharmacist to ensure the safe, accurate and timely supply of prescribed medication to patients. provide medicines-related and healthy lifestyle advice to patients. assist in the smooth operation of the pharmacy. About the Candidate If you are an experienced dispensing assistant looking for an exciting new role, then we'd love to hear from you. You will have the following qualifications, skills and experience: Working towards or have completed an accredited NVQ level 2 (or equivalent) Dispensing Assistant training course under the guidance of the pharmacist. Good attention to detail and high levels of concentration. Excellent communication and customer service skills. Excellent team working skills. Good level of IT literacy and numeracy A warm and friendly but professional attitude towards customers. An ability to respond to medical queries in a sensitive and professional manner. Experience of handling money and maintaining finance records. Experience of working in a retail environment (desirable).
