Key responsibilities for the Education and SEN Lawyer role:
1. Handling a caseload of SEND matters.
2. Dealing with SEND tribunals.
3. Drafting local authority responses, position statements, casework, and collating final evidence.
4. Drafting witness statements.
5. Chairing legal planning and pre-hearing meetings.
6. Providing general education law advice to client departments and schools.
Experience required for the SEN and Education Lawyer role:
1. Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Legal Executive.
2. Some understanding and experience of SEND is essential.
