Job overview
A Deputy Ward Manager is required to coordinate a 6 bedded hyper acute stroke unit and a 22 bedded stroke ward.
If you are self-motivated, enthusiastic, and want to develop your management and leadership skills, this is an ideal opportunity.
To provide clinical and managerial support to the ward manager by maintaining high quality holistic care to patients nursed within the Stroke unit.
To utilise clinical expertise in the delivery of care to stroke patients.
To provide clinical support, guidance, and education to junior nursing and medical staff.
Main duties of the job
We are a twenty-eight bedded Stroke unit providing hyper-acute, acute, and rehabilitation as part of an interdisciplinary team to patients who have suffered a stroke. This is an exciting time in the development of the stroke services for patients in Lincolnshire and the successful candidate will be an integral part of taking the stroke service forward.
The role will involve working as part of an established multi-disciplinary team. Deputising in the ward manager's absence and gaining valuable experience in management and leadership with support and appropriate training.
Actively contribute to the development of the stroke unit service through identification and implementation of training programmes for all ward staff.
Identify shortfalls and report to the ward manager.
You must be a registered nurse level 1.

Qualifications
* Diploma in Stroke care
* Working towards Masters with learning objectives specific to Stroke
Previous Experience
* Two years post registration at 5 grade preferably within stroke care
* Demonstrate knowledge of Stroke service and care of stroke patients
Skills
* Demonstrate leadership skills.
* Ability to apply holistic care.
* Ability to manage time.
* Work on own initiative and as part of MDT.
* Keenness to develop professionally.
* Demonstrate commitment and flexibility to the needs of the stroke patient/service.
* Ability to manage change.
