ABOUT THE ROLE
The Head of Digital Marketing is key in steering the brand's online success. This role involves crafting a comprehensive digital strategy, understanding target audiences across Europe, and staying up to date on market trends. Overseeing campaign execution across Europe, managing web developments, managing budgets and expectations (both internally and externally) are vital responsibilities.
The Head of Digital Marketing ensures alignment with overall business objectives which are central to success, including enhancing brand awareness, generating leads, optimizing conversion rates, fostering customer engagement, maximizing ROI, and embracing adaptability.
You will encourage cross-functional collaboration and work with senior management, stakeholders, and local teams to define the objectives and deadlines of projects. You will lead a team to create engaging content for the website to support product launches, seasonal campaigns, social media channels and email marketing and ensure they have the resources, tools, and budget to achieve the targets.
Reporting directly to the Marketing Director RYOBI & AEG EMEA, you should have a strong grasp of current marketing tools and be up to date on the latest e-commerce, SEO, advertising, social media and email marketing trends. Having strong experience across the full digital marketing mix is important for this role and experience in an FMCG environment and e-commerce is important.
Based in our European headquarters in Maidenhead, the EMEA consumer digital marketing team is responsible for the management and execution of the online marketing strategy for our consumer power tool brand RYOBI and our trade power tool brand, AEG. The department is a busy and dynamic function that supplies all European regions with the online marketing materials needed to deliver the company’s ambitious financial growth targets.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage and define the execution of the marketing plan for RYOBI & AEG and ensure goals, objectives and KPI’s are met.
2. Manage the roll-out of e-commerce developments and platforms across Europe.
3. Plan and execute digital marketing campaigns across various channels, such as search engines, websites, social media, email and mobile.
4. Measure and report digital marketing performance and make recommendations to improve the results.
5. Lead and manage the digital marketing team to meet business goals.
6. Have a working knowledge across all key areas - from SEO and content to paid ads and email – and bring improvements in a constantly evolving landscape.
7. Support the commercial functions of the local regions, including price monitoring, SEO enhancements and troubleshooting.
8. Collaborate with other departments and external partners to coordinate projects, including local teams, product management, legal, customer service, IT, business process, agencies, vendors and media outlets.
9. Stay updated on digital marketing trends and best practices.
10. Provide a 12-month calendar of content across product launches, promotions, social media, email marketing and SEO.
11. Ensure websites, campaigns and data capture are GDPR compliant and in-line with legal requirements.
12. Budget management.
13. Maintain the high standards of the RYOBI & AEG brand across Europe.
14. Provide hands-on support at marketing events in the UK and abroad.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
1. Proven experience in Digital Marketing, including e-commerce.
2. Highly creative and the ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video) that engages, informs and motivates.
3. Hands-on experience in content management or CRM platforms.
4. Strong project management skills.
5. A team player that can also excel when working independently.
6. An ability to work under tight deadlines.
7. Excellent written communication and copywriting skills.
8. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with other departments.
9. Enthusiasm to travel in the UK and internationally (mainly Europe).
DESIRABLES:
1. Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
2. Experience managing a team.
3. Experience managing large budgets.
4. Understanding of website analytics tools, such as Google Analytics.
5. Analytical mind, with a passion for measuring data.
6. Experience within a FMCG environment.
7. Commutable distance from Maidenhead.
8. Ability to speak a European language in addition to English.
