Position: Full Time and Part Time Available
What you will be doing:
1. Encourage the people we support to make their own choices about everyday things such as what to wear, what to do, what to eat, as well as bigger decisions such as where to live, how to spend their money, or where to go on holiday.
2. Enable the people we support to fulfil those choices, including structured activities which help each individual to develop their confidence and skills.
3. Enable the people we support to meet their responsibilities such as paying bills, looking after their homes, being good neighbours, and keeping in close contact with friends and family.
4. Enable the people we support to be involved in Company-related activities such as training, recruitment of new staff, and house meetings.
How will you do this:
1. Support individuals to carry out normal household tasks.
2. Understand principles of respect and dignity.
3. Exhibit patience and empathy.
4. Support individuals with their intimate personal care with dignity and respect.
5. Demonstrate good communication skills which can be adapted to suit the situation.
6. Speak on behalf of others as well as to a range of professional people within and outside of Cartrefi Cymru.
7. Maintain good written skills and the ability to record events with empathy and meaning.
8. Utilize basic computer skills to keep simple records and find information.
9. Exhibit good observational skills.
10. Work effectively as part of a team.
11. Maintain consistent standards.
12. Make decisions and follow them through.
13. Be creative and organized.
14. Manage and record finances.
15. Possess the ability to drive and have access to your own vehicle.
