The IT Technician will be a subsidiary of the wider group our client is a part of and will be integrated into the Group's IT Department, with a profile primarily focused on systems but with the versatility to perform functional analysis and small software developments.

Responsibilities:
1. Administer and maintain the company's IT systems, ensuring their availability and security.
2. Prevent, detect, and resolve system malfunctions.
3. Perform backups of all servers using Veeam Backup.
4. Install, configure, and maintain servers and virtualized systems in a VMware environment.
5. Implement and manage software and hardware updates across various systems and devices.
6. Administer Windows Server, including:
1. Active Directory management.
2. Group Policy Objects (GPO) administration.
3. Configuration and maintenance of file servers, DNS, DHCP, and network services.
4. Monitoring and troubleshooting Windows environments.
7. Manage and ensure the proper operation of Fortinet firewalls and Aruba switches.
8. Administer Microsoft Exchange and Azure environments.
9. Manage Linux systems, including maintenance, security, and configuration.
10. Identify, document, and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
11. Develop and maintain small internal software applications.
12. Provide user support across different systems, including assistance with applications and troubleshooting.
13. Manage and request necessary IT equipment for the maintenance and operation of the subsidiary's IT system.
14. Management of associated third-party IT vendors, including:
1. Communicating and managing any adaptations or developments that are required to meet changing business needs.
2. Monitor performance against agreed SLAs and implement any actions necessary.
15. Liaise with the Business Management team to identify potential areas of process improvement using available technology.
16. Assign and manage access to files and software applications according to established security levels.
Skills and Attributes:
1. Experience in VMware, Veeam Backup, and Windows Server administration.
2. Knowledge of Fortinet firewalls and Aruba switches.
3. Administration of Microsoft Exchange and Azure environments.
4. Knowledge of Linux systems.
5. Ability to identify, document, and translate business requirements into technical specifications.
6. Capability to develop and maintain small internal applications.
7. Experience working within the packaging sector is desirable.
8. Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.
9. Proactive character of high integrity, accountability, and flexibility.
10. Experience with ERP Shuttleworth and SAGE.
11. Knowledge of SAP R/3 and/or ESKO software is desirable.
12. Experience with iQuote (ePS) software is desirable.
13. Familiarity with project management methodologies and technical documentation is desirable.
