Sustainability Reporting and Regulatory Specialist

Join our team at euNetworks as a Sustainability Reporting and Regulatory Specialist, reporting to our Senior Sustainability Director. In this key role, you will have the day-to-day responsibility for shaping and driving our approach to complying with ESG reporting requirements in the European countries where the company has assets, including relevant reporting standards and regulations such as the GHG Protocol, CSRD, CDP, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 37001. This ensures we meet and exceed regulatory requirements across the Western European regions in which we operate. You will also contribute to developing and implementing short- and long-term sustainability goals and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
1. ESG Reporting and Compliance
1. Participate in ESG Compliance Processes:
o Collect and manage the necessary information for the company to comply with ESG reporting requirements in European countries where euNetworks operates
o Align with relevant reporting standards and regulations, including GHG Protocol, CSRD, CSDDD, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 37001
o Track corporate, environmental, and sustainability legislative compliance across Western European markets
o Provide procedures and assist with implementing necessary changes to maintain or exceed regulatory compliance
o Ensure data accuracy and integrity for ESG reporting and disclosures by incorporating suitable control frameworks that make data input robust and verifiable throughout internal systems and the supply chain
2. Develop and Implement Sustainability Goals:
* Contribute to developing and implementing both short-term and long-term sustainability goals and initiatives
* Embedding sustainability into euNetworks’ culture
* Monitor progress towards sustainability targets and recommend adjustments as needed
1. Regulation Compliance (CSRD and GHG)
1. Subject Matter Expertise:
* Become a subject matter expert and lead within the ESG team on the CSRD and GHG protocol projects, including:
o Value chain mapping
o Double Materiality Assessment
o Impact, Risk, and Opportunity (IRO) assessment preparation
o Stakeholder interviews
o GHG inventory collection, assessment, and reporting
o Assemble and validate energy data for legislative compliance and renewable energy claims
2. Collaboration with Internal Teams:
* Work closely with the Procurement team to:
o Undertake value chain mapping for euNetworks
o Embed best practices in annual due diligence surveys and questionnaires to support data collection
* Support the IT team to document requirements for automated reporting solutions and integration within the Salesforce platform
* Establish strong relationships and maintain effective communication channels with Legal, Marketing, Procurement, HR, and Operations teams
3. Training and Procedure Development:
* Help design and deliver company-wide trainings for various stakeholders
* Support the development of standard operating procedures
4. Emissions Targets Tracking, Assurance and Validation:
* Help track science-based emissions targets, upholding euNetworks’ published corporate environmental commitments, and lead responses for assurance and validation processes
5. Customer Support and Communication
1. Data Analytics for Customers:
* Focus on data analytics and management to support our customers’ carbon accounting strategies and decarbonisation projects
6. Reporting to Customers:
* Prepare and present formal carbon performance reporting to customers by service or project
7. Technical Communication:
* Communicate complex technical information clearly and effectively to non-technical stakeholders
8. Sustainability Goals and Initiatives
1. Contribute to Sustainability Initiatives:
* Participate in developing and implementing initial and long-term sustainability goals and initiatives
* Monitor industry trends and best practices to inform sustainability strategies
* Provide insights and recommendations to enhance euNetworks’ sustainability performance
Qualifications and Skills
Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Sustainability, Climate Change, Environmental Science, Physical Geography, Engineering, or a related field
* 4+ years of professional experience, with 2+ years in carbon accounting and carbon management
* Experience working with Big Four accounting firms or other consultancies, assisting clients with data analysis, modelling, GHG corporate annual reporting, and implementing systems and processes to support sustainability standards and emission reduction initiatives
* Proven experience in developing and managing corporate GHG inventories
* Experience leading cross-functional annual sustainability and ESG reporting requirements, including greenhouse gas (GHG) inventories
* Experience with the audit and assurance process for corporate inventory claims
Technical Knowledge and Expertise:
* Deep knowledge of carbon accounting standards and protocols, including the GHG Protocol, with hands-on experience in annual ESG reporting, and frameworks like TCFD, GRI, SASB, and familiarity with SBTi
* Experience working with Lifecycle Assessments (LCAs) and Product Carbon Footprints
* Strong understanding of ISO standards: ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and ISO 37001
* Knowledge of relevant environmental regulations and policies, as well as emerging trends and best practices in sustainability
Analytical and Data Skills:
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to collect, organise, and interpret complex data sets
* Advanced Excel expertise, including building financial models and analysing energy and carbon emissions
* Demonstrable experience in climate risk analytics and worst-case scenario modelling approaches
* Strong research skills, including the ability to synthesise complex technical documents into decision-useful summaries for a non-technical audience
* Good understanding of general risk management approaches and how to embed climate change analysis into an organisation's risk management framework
Communication and Interpersonal Skills:
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
* Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical audiences
* Strong report writing skills
* Proven customer-facing experience working with complex carbon concepts
* Articulate with executive presence; comfortable with negotiations and supplier engagement
* Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with international, cross-functional teams and customers
Project Management and Leadership:
* Excellent client management and project management skills
* Demonstrated ability in time management and proactivity
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse, cross-functional team environment
* Self-motivated and capable of working independently and collaboratively
