Evalian are seeking an IT Support Technician to assist our IT Manager in providing day-to-day technical support to ensure the smooth operation of the organisation’s IT Infrastructure. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven and highly organised team player to join our rapidly expanding consultancy business. The Role The role will involve trouble shooting hardware and software issues, managing user access, maintaining IT systems, and ensuring that the IT environment is secure and efficient. You will work closely with the IT Manager to implement new systems, manage upgrades, and ensure compliance with IT policies. Key Responsibilities Technical Support Provide first-line and second-line support for hardware, software, and cloud network issues, ensuring timely resolution. Assist with setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of user devices (laptop, tablets, mobile phones, monitors, and other devices). Respond to and resolve incidents and service requests as directed by the IT Manager, prioritising and escalating issues as needed. User Management Administer user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems. Manage the onboarding and offboarding process for new and departing employees, including setup of devices and software. Systems Management Monitor the health and performance of IT systems, servers, and network infrastructure. Support in maintaining and upgrading network hardware, including routers, switches, and wireless access points. Assist with backup and recovery processes and ensure data integrity. Compliance and Security Assist in maintaining security standards, including ISO 27001 and ISO 9001, and Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus compliance. Monitor antivirus, firewall, and other security solutions to safeguard the organisation’s data. Conduct regular audits of IT equipment and ensure compliance with asset management procedures. Collaboration and Communication Work closely with the IT Manager to plan and implement IT projects and upgrades. Communicate effectively with non-technical staff to provide clear explanations of IT issues. Maintain detailed records of all IT assets and prepare regular reports for the IT Manager on the status of IT systems. The Person You will have a minimum of 1 year experience in an IT support role, be comfortable in learning new skills in a fast-moving environment, be able to contribute to our growth and become a valued member of the team. You will require: Proficiency with Windows operating systems. Experience with Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, Defender 365 and other Microsoft admin panels. Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs). Experience with hardware setup and troubleshooting, including desktops, laptops, printers, and mobile devices. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Effective time management skills and ability to handle multiple tasks. Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience) would be advantageous. Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A, Network, or ITIL are advantageous. The Package The salary on offer will depend on experience and qualifications but will be between £25,000 and £35,000. All employees get 25 days of annual leave per year, plus bank holidays and Birthday Day Off. On days you are home based, you'll need to have a dedicated, secure, working area and reliable internet connection. We may request that you attend events from time to time for various purposes, but we’ll always provide you with advance notice. Travel expenses to these events will be reimbursed.
