Site Maintenance Officer
37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday 7:00am-12:00pm and 3:30pm-6:00pm; Fridays 7:00am-11:30am and 3:30pm-6:00pm
52 weeks per year with 31 days (plus Bank Holidays) holiday to be taken in the school holidays.
Grade 5 £24,294.00-£25,979.00
Permanent subject to a 24 week probation period
Haslington Primary Academy and Nursery is looking to appoint a hardworking and enthusiastic Site Maintenance Officer to join our team to ensure that a clean and safe environment is maintained in our school.
The successful applicant must be able to maintain the school building and its grounds to a high standard and work on their own initiative. An understanding of Health and Safety responsibilities and general building improvement and maintenance is desirable.
Duties include:
1. Maintaining the security of the premises and its contents, including being a registered key holder;
2. Undertaking minor repairs, maintenance work, and porterage duties;
3. Ensuring that the lighting and heating systems are in good working condition;
4. Ensuring the school is kept clean through close working with the site team;
5. Purchasing site-related maintenance materials (own vehicle will be required to transport);
6. Working with the Site Manager/Health and Safety Manager to support project developments, general repair and maintenance;
7. Responding to out of hours emergency call-outs as necessary to provide effective security arrangements.
The successful applicant must:
1. Be conscientious and trustworthy;
2. Demonstrate outstanding attention to detail;
3. Have the ability to work independently, but also as part of a team;
4. Have the ability to act on their own initiative;
5. Ideally have relevant experience in working in a facilities maintenance role;
6. Have a good sense of humour and a hardworking ethos;
7. Demonstrate a commitment to safeguarding children and maintaining confidentiality at all times.
