Position: Religious Education (RE) Teacher
Overview:
Supply Desk are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Religious Education (RE) Teacher to join a Secondary School based in the Portsmouth area on a long-term contract with the possibility of a permanent contract. The role would be starting September on a long-term contract until at least July 26. The successful candidate will be teaching RE to students in KS3 and KS4, working in a supportive department. The School will consider non-specialist RE teachers for this role with experience teaching RE in Secondary Schools.
Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver high-quality lessons in Religious Education, catering to different learning styles and abilities.
2. Create an inclusive and stimulating classroom atmosphere that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
3. Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and support where needed.
4. Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials and contribute to the overall improvement of the department.

The school is based in Portsmouth and is a mixed Secondary School for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 900 students in total. The school has a keen interest in promoting the learning of multiple languages in its students, as well as creating a friendly and enthusiastic environment through all aspects of teaching. Qualifications and Requirements:
1. Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching certification.
2. Specialisation or degree in Religious Studies, Theology, or a related field.
3. Experience teaching Religious Education at Key Stages 3, 4, and ideally 5.
4. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
5. A genuine passion for the subject and a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment.
