Job Overview We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Band 4 Infant Feeding Practitioner to join our Infant Feeding Team, working across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland. Providing expert support to families, focusing on breastfeeding and wider infant feeding practices. The successful applicant will work as an integral member of the Infant Feeding Team, developing required clinical skills to support the implementation of the Infant Feeding Policy and maintain the Baby Friendly Standards. This will involve staff training, audit and supporting the Specialist Infant Feeding Service. You ll work collaboratively with colleagues and community services to promote positive feeding outcomes and deliver high-quality care. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of families while contributing to a dynamic and supportive team. The post holder will act as a role model in promoting, protecting and supporting breast feeding. The focus will be on the clinical teams working within the Healthy Together 0-5 Service so that they are empowered to deliver effective infant feeding support to expectant and new parents, babies and their families. Participate in the delivery of Infant feeding awareness sessions to Stakeholders. Act as a professional resource for parents, families and the multi-disciplinary team within the community in relation to infant feeding, demonstrating high standards of care. Assess feeding and effective attachment, support parenting to achieve effective feeding through positioning and attachment. Review feeding plans with families to support them to achieve their feeding goals. To improve the service through continuous evaluation and review with them involvement of service users and volunteers. Support the Infant Feeding team in maintaining the UNICEF UK Baby Friendly Accreditation, working alongside the team to deliver a high-quality service. Assist in the delivery of the Specialist Infant Feeding Service in the community by facilitating delegated clinics, home visits, telephone and virtual support, enhancing client experience by using research and evidence-based care.
