FLAG – Account Director, Communications

We are looking for a PR Account Director with a passion for ESG and responsible finance to join our Communications team.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
* The ability to provide informed counsel to senior stakeholders, supported by strong expertise in strategic communications.
* Demonstrable expertise in ESG and responsible finance, with a genuine passion for sustainability.
* Proven experience in managing teams to deliver impactful PR campaigns and high-quality outputs within tight deadlines.
* A growth mindset with an understanding of profitability in an agency environment.
* Good organisational skills with excellent attention to detail, ensuring exceptional delivery standards.
Primary responsibilities:
* You will serve as the primary point of contact for key clients, building and maintaining strong relationships. You should be sufficiently confident and knowledgeable to advise clients in most situations without input from more senior members of the team.
* You should have a ‘nose for news’ – able to identify newsworthy story angles, often from dense and complex subject matter, and develop compelling messaging in line with client objectives. You should cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key journalists.
* You will lead the development and implementation of impactful PR and communications strategies and campaigns that align with client goals.
* You are a confident writer and produce quality written content. You have experience in developing compelling copy – both short and long form – and are able to produce or edit content to tight deadlines when required.
* You should have strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and mentor team members, leading by example and promoting a collaborative work environment.
* You will be accountable for delivering high-quality communications in line with client expectations – requiring excellent attention to detail and management of your own and others’ time.
* You should have a firm handle on the profitability of your accounts, ensuring that time spent on projects reflects agreed scopes of work. You should identify and pursue opportunities for growth – both with new and existing clients.
Remuneration: Dependent on experience.
The location: This role can be part London office-based or fully remote. Travel to client meetings in the UK and Europe will be required.
