Job Title: Marine Stress Engineering Lead Location: Plymouth (Hybrid) - 2 days on-site per week Company: Engineering consultancy Salary: up to £80,000 Role Overview: We're seeking an experienced Structural Stress Engineering Lead to manage and contribute to the design and analysis of aerospace and defense structures, focusing on Marine Seating systems. The role involves leadership, technical expertise, and collaboration with clients and internal teams. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage a team of stress engineers, ensuring delivery of high-quality results on time. Coordinate with customers for inputs and oversee project execution. Perform structural analysis (hand calculations and FEA using ANSYS) to evaluate integrity and performance of marine seating systems. Prepare stress reports, attend reviews, and secure client acceptance. Implement best practices in engineering processes and procedures. Stay updated on industry trends and technologies. Required Skills: Proficiency in stress analysis tools (ANSYS, Altair HyperMesh, ABAQUS). Expertise in static analysis (hand calculations and FEA techniques). Experience with marine engineering structures, particularly seating systems. Strong knowledge of structural analysis methodologies and quality standards. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Marine/Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred). Experience: Significant background in the marine industry, structural analysis, and materials. Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
