The Adult Autism Service is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic part-time Band 6 Specialist Nurse, Occupational Therapist, or Speech and Language Therapist to work alongside our Lead Assessors for diagnostic and assessment service for adults who are believed to need an assessment for autism.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will have responsibility for the assessment and the gathering and co-ordinating of information in order to inform whether a person has a diagnosis of Autism, what traits are relevant to them and how they can best manage their future. The post holder will also be required to use their skills and expertise to educate, advise and consult with the wider workforce and different agencies, to improve services for autistic people.

Qualifications
* Registered Nurse/Registered Qualified Occupational Therapist/ Registered Speech and Language Therapist
* Demonstrate commitment to ongoing training
* Degree in Health Care field
Knowledge
* Ability to Assess/Plan/Evaluate care to clients and carers
* Support clients in crisis
* Ability to chair meetings and lead a team
* Deliver training to other professionals and services
* Experience in quality initiatives
* Ability to manage conflict situations to an amicable resolution
* Confidence/experience in managing potentially challenging situations
Experience
* A level of post qualifying experience of working with adults with autism
* Direct experience of working with clients with complex needs i.e. people with multiple co-morbidities
* Experience of using assessments to identify needs
* Working within a MDT
