* To prepare and optimise performance through a comprehensive physical preparation programme.
* Lead, deliver and enhance the Women’s sports science provision in line with the Club’s strategic objectives – to prevent injury and to enhance individual player and squad athletic performance.
SCOPE OF DUTIES
* To design, develop and deliver a holistic sports science programme that maximises performance capability of players and the squad whilst ensuring player availability and benchmarking against the best in the Women’s game.
* To provide real-time feedback to coaches and the medical department on individual player capability, loadings and readiness data daily.
* To work collaboratively with coaches and medical staff to develop weekly, monthly and seasonal plans.
* To lead on the monitoring of player workload, wellness, and readiness to inform training programmes, in and out of season and support decision making.
* To ensure that player/team data is input into athlete management systems to support ongoing tracking of player status.
* To work with the Lead Physiotherapist to develop a comprehensive screening and testing programme for the squad informed through injury surveillance and analysis.
* To plan, programme and coach individualized strength/power and conditioning sessions informed through profiling, needs analysis, injury surveillance, testing, monitoring, and player need to maximize performance and availability to train.
* To plan and coach position-specific football actions which develop movement capabilities for football performance.
* Encourage an interdisciplinary approach by working with the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) to design and deliver a comprehensive program to optimize player and squad performance.
* Support technical staff to input, create and deliver the players IDP from a physical perspective, aligning position-specific requirements with technical elements.
* Ensure compliance with all the Policies and Procedures contained within the Staff Handbook, paying particular regard to the Equal Opportunities Policy and Health & Safety Policy and procedures at all times.
* To lead and manage the anti-doping whereabouts system.
* Any other duties as deemed necessary by your Line Manager or Head of Department within the scope of the role.
Qualifications
* BSc in Sports Science or a related field.
* Hold a UK Strength & Conditioning Association (UKSCA) Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC) credential
* Hold FA Level 2 Emergency Aid in Football (EFAiF) qualification
* An MSc in Strength and Conditioning or postgraduate related
* Additional S&C related qualifications (e.g. NSCA, BWLA)
* To be a BASES Accredited Sports Scientist
* Hold a UEFA B Licence in Coaching (FA Level 3)
Knowledge and Skills
* An ability to produce verbal and written reports.
* A willingness to work flexibly.
* A strong desire to work as part of a team and to put the team's needs ahead of your own.
* Understanding of Health and Safety and its application to a sporting environment.
* Energy and enthusiasm, with the ability to enthuse and inspire inexperienced and experienced players.
* Evidence of sound administrative, organizational and prioritization skills.
* Experience of working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Terms of Appointment
* 37.5 hours a week including evenings and weekends
