Main duties of the job
As a Pharmacy Technician, your role is essential for the smooth operation of our dispensary. Here’s how you’ll contribute daily:
Dispensary Management: Assist the chief or senior technician in overseeing dispensing services to ensure seamless operation.
Stock Management: Maintain pharmacy stocks by ordering and requisitioning supplies from the Pharmacy Store as required.
Patient Counselling: Provide guidance to patients and carers on medication usage, ensuring they understand their prescriptions.
Support for Prescribing: Promote adherence to the Trust formulary and local prescribing guidelines to enhance medication effectiveness.
Training and Mentorship: Support and supervise trainee pharmacy technicians, trainee pharmacists, and other pharmacy staff.
Person specification
Qualifications
* BTEC or NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences
* Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* Accreditation in Checking of Dispensing
Experience
* Dispensing and supply of medicines
* Computerised dispensing and stock control
* Community or Hospital Pharmacy Experience
* Enhanced Hospital experience
