As Contract Co-ordinator you will be responsible for overseeing the completion of transport orders from our customers, working with external and internal suppliers to achieve deliveries on time and to target. You will also actively engage with Sales leads, Commercial Tenders and Spot Market to identify and win new business.

Hours per week: Full-time
Salary: £25-29k p.a., depending on experience
Key responsibilities
Other key responsibilities will include:
1. Receiving and managing customer orders adding these to the internal tracking system and keeping this updated at all times.
2. Selecting hauliers in terms of price, service and Health and Safety, ensuring service standards are met.
3. Monitoring and managing cost effective collections and deliveries whilst resolving any operational issues.
4. Being a key contact for the jobs you control, fostering relationships with current and new suppliers.
5. Using your market knowledge and customer relationships to respond with commercial tenders identifying new business and trade lanes for the office and wider business.
6. Dealing with and resolving all queries relating to incidents, raising claim files and keeping records up to date as necessary.
7. Understanding department targets, collating information relevant for various KPI’s and reporting to customers and management.
Your profile
As Contract Co-ordinator you have previous experience of working in a customer focussed operational role and will possess excellent communication skills able to liaise with people at all levels competently and professionally.
You also have:
1. Strong organisational skills, including ability to prioritise and manage own work load to deadlines.
2. Ability to work on your own initiative and make decisions in line with the task.
3. An eye for detail and excellent customer service.
4. Good IT skills, including MS Word and Excel and effective written and verbal communication skills.
5. H&S knowledge and awareness.
6. Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
7. Knowledge of Customs requirements between UK and EU and knowledge of Hazardous Goods Transport and Transportation of foods would be an advantage.
