Job Opportunity: Warehouse Operative (Public Sector) A leading public sector client is seeking a Warehouse Operative to join their team. This role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual to support critical services that ensure the safety and well-being of the community. Key Responsibilities: Manage the procurement, safekeeping, and distribution of vehicles, PPE, operational equipment, and uniforms. Oversee stock management by monitoring levels, placing replenishment orders, and maintaining the electronic stock management system. Organize the collection, delivery, and disposal of goods, ensuring compliance with disposal policies. Handle the fitting and distribution of firefighting PPE and other equipment, ensuring it meets national safety standards. Participate in regional duty standby rotas, providing operational support as needed. Operate forklifts (counterbalance and reach) and other mechanical handling equipment to move stock efficiently. Conduct regular stocktaking and audits to ensure accurate inventory management. Assist with contract management by liaising with suppliers and monitoring performance. Essential Criteria: 3-5 years of experience in a multi-commodity stores or warehouse environment, including use of an electronic stock management system. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Forklift license (counterbalance and reach) or willingness to obtain.
