We are looking for a dynamic People Advisor to join our HR team and provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance management, and workplace policies. The ideal candidate will act as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, fostering a positive work environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment laws.
* This part-time fixed term role is ideal for a motivated candidate to take responsibility for implementation and management of the HR function for the company.
* With a focus on recruitment and personnel development you will take a lead supporting the wider teams as a HR Generalist.
* You will provide support on employee relations issues and statutory entitlements, ensuring compliance with current employment legislation, ACAS and Company Policies.
* You will gain exposure to many different aspects of the business, and we will look to you to identify and develop improvements to assist the business in achieving a well round HR function.
* The nature of our industry and the environment in which we operate can be at times fast-paced and varied, often requiring the People Advisor to multi-task many time-sensitive obligations at short notice.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert advice and support on HR policies, procedures, and employment law.
* Act as the first point of contact for employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent resolution.
* Guide managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution.
* Support the implementation of HR strategies that enhance employee engagement and workplace culture.
* Assist in talent management, succession planning, and workforce development initiatives.
* Ensure HR policies comply with employment laws and industry best practices.
* Facilitate training sessions on HR-related topics such as diversity, inclusion, and leadership development.
* Maintain accurate HR records and documentation.
* Collaborate with HR teams to support recruitment, onboarding, and benefits administration.
* Promote employee well-being initiatives and drive engagement programs.
Personal Specification:
* 3+ years of experience in HR advisory or an employee relations role.
* CIPD Level 3 Minimum (Level 5 desired)
* Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and confidentiality.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Roles And Responsibilities:
* Recruitment & Onboarding: Manage end-to-end recruitment, including job descriptions, interviews, candidate assessments, offers, and agency coordination. Handle new starter paperwork, payroll setup (with Finance), and onboarding administration.
* Employee Development: Support personal development plans with the Learning & Development Manager, coordinating reviews and appraisals while ensuring a structured approach to employee progression.
* HR Policies & Compliance: Act as the key contact for policy development, ensuring alignment with legislation. Advise management on employment meetings, including appraisals, disciplinary, and grievance procedures.
* HR Administration: Manage employee queries (e.g., absence, probation, eligibility checks), process new on and off boarding.
* Investigations & Employee Relations: Lead HR investigations, data collection, hearings, and outcome documentation, with support from the Head of People.
* Employee Engagement: Oversee engagement initiatives, including the shadow-day program, health & lifestyle rewards, surveys, newsletter content, and team events.
* Performance Tracking: Monitor HR department SMART objectives, present updates to senior management, and provide data-driven insights.

Contract Type: 12-month FTC
Hours Per Week: 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday
Salary Banding: £28,000 - £32,000 per annum pro rata - dependent on experience
Location: Kent Head Office
Holiday: 20 Days per annum plus UK Public Holidays.
Probation: 3 Months from start date
Notice: 4 Weeks’
