We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Head of RE to join a vibrant, welcoming Church of England (C of E) secondary school in Bolton. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and dynamic educator to lead and inspire both KS3 and KS4 students while fostering a love for learning in a supportive, faith-based environment.

About the Role:
As the Head of RE, you will be responsible for leading the RE department and delivering outstanding teaching to students in both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4. You will manage and develop a team of RE teachers, ensuring that all students receive a high-quality, well-rounded education that not only teaches religious studies but also nurtures spiritual and moral development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the RE department, setting high expectations for student achievement and teacher performance.
- Deliver engaging, creative, and well-structured lessons to both KS3 and KS4 students.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate the RE curriculum in line with both the school's vision and the National Curriculum.
- Monitor and track student progress, providing targeted interventions and support where necessary.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages respect, faith, and reflection.
- Support the spiritual life of the school, in collaboration with the leadership team and Chaplaincy.
- Manage departmental resources, ensuring efficient use and ongoing development of teaching materials and technology.
- Contribute to the overall ethos of the school, working within a Church of England framework.
About You:
- Qualified teacher status (QTS) with a degree in Religious Education or a relevant subject.
- Proven experience in teaching RE at both KS3 and KS4.
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to inspire and support a team.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with staff, students, and the wider school community.
- A commitment to the values and ethos of a Church of England school.
