We have a great opportunity for a Data Scientist with Artificial Intelligence (AI) / Machine Learning expertise to work with Satellite Ground Segment, Navigation, Earth Observation and Climate Data engineers to join the UK team.
Objective
Leading the data science aspects of our bids and projects, you will help develop new products and applications that use statistics, machine learning, forecasting and optimization to enhance their efficiency and performance.
Responsibilities/ Duties
1. Working with fellow engineers and customers to apply data science to innovative new products and services
2. Developing prototype and proof of concept systems to demonstrate business need
3. Continuous improvements to automated data handling tools
4. Writing technical contributions to bids
Qualifications/Experience
1. Bachelor's/Master's degree in mathematics, physics, computer science, or other relevant STEM subject
2. Strong experience of data science frameworks such as Tensorflow, PyTorch, Scikit, Pandas, Keras
3. Strong computer literacy skills, including software engineering and development with modern programming languages such as Python
4. Experience with machine and deep learning, particularly the development and optimisation of neural networks
Essential Skills
1. Inventiveness and problem-solving skills
2. Ability to transform a technical concept and mathematical model into efficient software implementation
3. Experience of using statistical or data analytics techniques
4. Interest in, and enthusiasm for, climate, environment or Earth observation science
Desirable Skills
1. Experience of deploying machine learning applications to local and cloud infrastructures
2. Experience in applying data science techniques to spatial, and/or Earth observation datasets
3. Understanding of data management and adhering to corporate standards
4. Cloud and edge-computing application development
5. Knowledge and experience of Position, Navigation & Timing (PNT) mathematical techniques and data set manipulation
6. Experience & knowledge of MatLab
