Senior Contracts Engineer (Contractor)

Role Overview
As a Senior Contracts Engineer, you will manage and execute all aspects of subcontracting for technical services related to an international client contract. Your responsibilities include developing subcontract strategies, overseeing tender processes, negotiating terms, and ensuring full compliance with internal policies and external regulations. The role requires collaboration with Legal, Procurement, Tax, and Compliance teams to deliver legally sound contracts.
Key Responsibilities
Your key duties will include:
Subcontract Strategy Development
* Develop comprehensive subcontract strategies and plans for technical services within the scope of an international client contract.
* Collaborate with specialist services to recommend optimal subcontracting approaches that align with project goals.
Tender Management
* Manage the full tender process, from preparing documentation to evaluating bids.
* Conduct tender exercises in accordance with the company's established procedures.
* Provide clear recommendations for subcontract awards.
Contract Negotiation & Compliance
* Negotiate key subcontracts and ensure approvals are secured in compliance with internal approval matrices and delegation of authority.
* Collaborate with Legal, Tax, Insurance, and Group Compliance departments to ensure that all subcontracts meet corporate governance requirements and regulatory standards.
Procurement & Delivery Focus
* Work closely with the procurement department to ensure timely placement of orders for services.
* Maintain strict confidentiality throughout the subcontract process and Invitation to Tender (ITT) procedures, ensuring sensitive information is protected.
Key Deliverables
* Execute the contract process end-to-end for discrete services.
* Ensure timely client-approved, board-approved, and fully compliant contracts.
* Provide contractor expertise to develop delivery-focused solutions.
* Ensure fluency with LOGIC contracts and industry-standard principles.
* Demonstrate expertise in various remuneration models, such as fixed-price and reimbursable contracts.
Requirements
To excel in this role, you will need:
* Proven experience in a Senior Contracts Engineer role, ideally within the oil and gas or energy sector.
* Strong understanding of LOGIC contracts and other industry-standard contractual principles.
* Experience in negotiating and managing various subcontract models (fixed price, reimbursable, etc.).
* Expertise in the tendering process, including preparation, evaluation, and award of subcontracts.
* Collaborative skills to work effectively with Legal, Procurement, and Compliance teams to ensure adherence to regulations.
* A keen eye for detail and the ability to handle confidential information securely.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with multiple stakeholders.
* Knowledge of corporate governance and approval matrices.
