We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced, forward-thinking and enthusiastic individual to join the Melton Borough Council Housing Assets Team as the Planned Maintenance Officer.
This role reports directly to the Senior Planned Maintenance Surveyor and will be part of our dynamic Housing Assets Team.
The role forms part of the Planned Maintenance Team to deliver a tenant-focused planned maintenance service. This includes the delivery of our capital programme and cyclical maintenance programme. There must be a strong culture of adherence to general health and safety requirements, particularly around fire, water, gas, electric, damp/mould, asbestos management, and CDM (Construction Design Management Regulations).
In this role and across our housing services, no two days are the same! The team has implemented major changes over the last few years, including software updates, process reviews, and contract amendments. We need someone to continue that work to improve the service that we offer to our tenants. As a landlord, we take our commitments to our residents seriously and we are focused on continuing to strengthen and improve what we do, and how we do it.
About You
We are looking for someone with asset maintenance experience, contract management and procurement, with project management experience. You must be well organized, able to deliver on time and within budget, and also understand the relationship between high-quality asset management and supporting residents who live in those properties.
The successful candidate will be driven and motivated with a focus on improving services. You will identify planned maintenance requirements through inspections and data analysis, and create and propose planned maintenance programmes.
You will have experience of working in a planned maintenance team, evidencing management of programmes of work and individual projects from inception through to completion of the works. This includes leading on regular contract meetings independently and managing expenditure in line with the set budgets.
A thorough working knowledge of Housing Management Systems and the Microsoft Office Suite of applications is key. You will have an excellent working knowledge of Excel and databases and be able to produce detailed reports as well as maintain and update electronic information systems in accordance with data protection regulations.
