Senior Electrical Engineer We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer with expertise in Combined Heat and Power (CHP) systems to support the design, installation, and commissioning of electrical infrastructure within Anaerobic Digestion (AD) facilities. This role focuses on power management, off-grid solutions, and grid integration to ensure seamless and reliable operation of renewable energy plants. Key Responsibilities of the Senior Electrical Engineer include: Design and specify power distribution and FEED systems for AD facilities, with a focus on CHP. Oversee grid connection processes, working closely with DNOs and transmission operators. Manage 11kV power transmission and develop LV distribution systems tailored to AD plants. Lead off-grid power management solutions for sites with limited grid capacity. Design and troubleshoot CHP-based power systems, ensuring reliability in varying load conditions. Implement backup power strategies, optimising power management systems to handle high-demand scenarios. Provide hands-on site supervision, resolving technical challenges during installation and commissioning. Work on gas-to-power projects, integrating large gas engines to supplement limited grid power. Collaborate with teams to develop resilient and efficient power solutions for AD and biogas facilities. Travel across multiple UK sites to oversee projects and troubleshoot site-specific issues. Requirements Strong background in CHP systems, particularly in AD or biogas applications. Expertise in power management, off-grid solutions, and backup power strategies. Experience in grid connections and working with DNOs on power infrastructure projects. Hands-on experience with electrical installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning. Ability to design power management systems for sites with constrained grid capacity. Familiarity with AD, Biogas, or wastewater treatment (preferred). Willingness to travel UK-wide to multiple project sites. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced electrical engineer looking to work on cutting-edge renewable energy projects and make a meaningful impact on sustainable power solutions
