Deben Health Group PCN has an opportunity for an enthusiastic & proactive senior receptionist to join & manage our team of care navigators within our Wickham Market Medical Centre, on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership & supervision of the team, ensuring that all reception duties are performed effectively & to the required standard, meeting the needs of our patients.
Main duties of the job
* Provide day to day support, leadership, first line management & guidance for the practice reception team, ensuring an efficient & professional manner is maintained.
* Ensure all reception duties are completed to the highest standard.
* Monitor staff attendance, sickness absence & annual leave.
* Provide communications between patients, doctors & other staff.
* Support the operations manager in the recruitment & induction of all new reception staff.
* Ensure cover & suitable contingency plans are in place for all leave & unforeseen absence.
* Motivate the team to achieve organisational goals.
* Develop & implement a timeline to achieve targets.
* Collect accurate & timely activity & performance information.
* Conduct training of team members to maximise their potential.
* Manage annual staff appraisals & regular reviews for new staff.
* Work with the operations manager & other staff to identify areas for improvement, including technology, assisting in change management.

Qualifications
* Previous management experience within a similar position.
* Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner, respecting patients and colleagues at all times.
* Experience of working with the general public, being sensitive and empathic in distressing situations.
* Ability to motivate a team.
* Strong IT and administration skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable.
* Some flexibility is required, as you will sometimes need to work additional or alternative hours to cover for colleagues.
