The post holder will be expected to work with specific Learning Areas, in a flexible, proactive manner and carry out such duties as are necessary to ensure the effective delivery of support services for learners who are at risk of becoming disengaged with their learning. This role will also link with the Learner Experience and Wellbeing Team as part of a wider responsibility to impact learners through extra-curricular activities.,
* Proactively work with learners and College staff (tutors and support services) to improve attendance, retention, attainment and support improvement of low level emotional and behavioural issues of learners.
* To work with the learner and the college staff to identify the appropriate intervention strategy needed to assist the learner to make appropriate progress.
* To maintain accurate and timely entries of progress/intervention strategies on the student information database.
Minimum degree qualification in relevant area such as education, youth work, and behavioural science
* Experience of arranging and leading activities to engage young people and promote good behaviour
* Knowledge of contextual issues facing young people in contemporary society which can impact educational progression
* Ability to define clear boundaries when working closely with young people
