Salary: £38,130
Contract: Full time, permanent.

Our Flex division produces a range of flexible plastic films, with our site in Wigan manufacturing products for major food retailers and suppliers.
We have an opportunity for an individual to join our team. You will be responsible for leading and operating a flexographic print machine whilst ensuring your print operations are conducted in a safe and controlled manner in line with the required standards and operating procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Set up and operate print machinery to optimum levels in a safe working manner, ensuring that the machinery and surrounding area are maintained in line with required health, safety, environmental, hygiene and housekeeping standards.
2. Deliver and sign off work in line with production orders, proactively monitoring and controlling print quality.
3. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards e.g. BRC, ISO & A2 permit.
4. Carry out print inspections & troubleshoot issues with the printing press or print quality.
5. Maintain lean manufacturing principles including 5s and SMED. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within Production.
6. Complete all paperwork and electronic data in a timely manner.
7. Complete shift handovers, ensuring the press is in an appropriate operational condition.
8. Perform press change over and run speeds in line with KPIs.
Minimum Requirements:
1. Fully trained Flexographic Printer - relevant Print qualifications City + Guilds or NVQ Level 2 or 3 an advantage.
2. Good level of literacy and numeracy, preferably GCSE level in English and Maths or equivalent.
3. Extensive flexographic print experience, specifically with experience of solvent based inks and wide web presses.
4. Experience of Fischer + Krecke 16S or Bobst 20SIX CI print machines an advantage.
5. Strong background in manufacturing, either label or packaging printing.
6. Considerable exposure to quality, health, safety and environmental standards and practices within a production setting.
Shift Pattern:
The role will operate on a 12-hour shift pattern:
Week 1 - 4 days (Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri) 6am-6pm
Week 2 - 3 nights (Tue, Wed, Thu) 6pm-6am
